Barbara Porter Barbara Porter, PMP is the Director of Customer Applications for 1800flowers.com, where she has worked for the last 8 years. She manages development and maintenance of 13 ecommerce websites for the company, and a retail point-of-sale application used in company-owned stores.

Prior to obtaining her Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science in 2000 summa cum laude from the New York Institute of Technology, Barbara worked for Getty Petroleum for 11 years - initially in the accounting group where she moved through the ranks to become Supervisor of Accounting. After 6 years she moved to the Marketing department, where she became the Manager of Marketing Administration and Purchasing, responsible for reviewing capital expenditure projects, analyzing acquisition opportunities, reporting of environmental liabilities, and all non-fuel purchasing activities within the organization.

Barbara has been a member of PMI for 3 years, and joined the IT & Telecom SIG about 2 years ago. In addition to being a PMP, she has an MBA summa cum laude from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst, and is a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB). She is currently enrolled in a Six Sigma Black Belt course through Villanova University.

Barbara lives in New York, on Long Island with her husband, and two children.
