The Project Management Institute has become increasingly important roles in society. Some initiatives in the field of project management are seeking effective solutions to social demands, such as the recovery of Newly communities affected by disasters or actions relating to education.

These initiatives show that project management is no longer a purely technical discipline, involving only methods of sequencing of activities or optimization of resources, but an issue much broader and human, in which the presence of new elements such as leadership, relationships, processes and strategy are to be recurring.

Thus, we find that in addition to technical knowledge, increasingly, is need to know interact with different cultures, even in a time of work. This makes the role of leader most challenging. When you think of propose new projects, conduct and lead a group of people in a certain direction, it is prudent to know clearly where he wants to reach. To both, knowledge assist in strategic decision-making and will that the initiatives move to a common goal, and with well-defined a real connection to the media.

In the contemporary world, multicultural teams working in a project, not are more motivated solely to promote exchange of experiences, but to "coexisting and find ways to complete in their differences, adding value to the project. It is known that the management of projects already consolidated in the Brazil and, every day, the occupation of that area is more requested and acknowledged in its role as conciliator and articulator of multifunctional teams.

These and other ideas are represented at the VIII International Seminar Management Project, which aims to broaden the vision of professional projects, causing them to reflect on new challenges and the new disciplines that are present in the field of management projects.
