Barbara Porter

Barbara Porter, PMP is the Chief Technology Officer of FragranceNet.com, an international discount retailer of authentic fragrances, skincare, haircare and makeup.  Prior to joining FragranceNet.com in January 2010, she was the Director of Customer Applications, and later the Director of Enterprise Initiatives for 1800flowers.com, where she worked for 10 years. She managed development and maintenance of 13 ecommerce websites, a retail point-of-sale application used in company-owned stores, an internal CRM application, and later led a business process optimization (BPO) program created to identify improvements and efficiencies in the supply chain and customer experience areas.

Prior to obtaining her Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science in 2000 summa cum laude from the New York Institute of Technology, Barbara worked for Getty Petroleum for 11 years - initially in the accounting group where she moved through the ranks to become Supervisor of Accounting. After 6 years she moved to the Marketing department, where she became the Manager of Marketing Administration and Purchasing, responsible for reviewing capital expenditure projects, analyzing acquisition opportunities, reporting of environmental liabilities, and all non-fuel purchasing activities within the organization. 

Barbara is also on the Faculty of the University of Phoenix where she teaches Critical Thinking and Sustainable Enterprise Management.

Barbara has been a member of PMI for 6 years, joined the IT & Telecom SIG about 5 years ago, and has been on the IT&Telecom SIG Board of Directors for the last 3 years. In addition to being a PMP, she has an MBA summa cum laude from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst, is a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB), and received Six Sigma Black Belt training through Villanova University.

Barbara lives in New York, on Long Island with her two children.
