Sharing PM Practices with Flextronics China

Sharing knowledge is an important function of the SIG. When our members speak, lead and teach it enhances the reputation of our organization, your membership credentials, and gives the audience 

Last month our Chairman, Mark Lurch spoke to an audience of 100+ project and product managers at Flextronics in Beijing China. This group is responsible for manufacturing and delivery of wireless technology products. He spoke about the following:

• The importance of understanding the underlying needs of the customer that enable optimization of design and supply chain operations.
• Accelerated time to market and time to volume, with the right product.
• The value of collaboration across disciplines, organizations, companies and continents in solving problems, learning best practices, and implementing innovative solutions on projects.
  

The value of being connected to over 5,700 Project Management members of the IT&Telecom SIG was clear and welcomed. At the end of the session, Flextronics management offered support for the SIG with regard to help on any issues dealing  with the Chinese Government. This event was part of a larger response to your requests for a greater global presence. We hope to continue establishing relationships internationally, gathering more members and creating more connections for you moving forward.

Ms. Li Jing, Sr. Director, Quality Management Systems and Mr. Bodo Zeug, General Manager of the facility, hosted Mark Lurch.
