In its ongoing efforts recognize the importance of continuing education, the IT & Telecom SIG has partnered with True Solutions Inc. (TSI) to assist SIG members in their professional development. The SIG and TSI and have designed an Award Program to provide self study packages to selected SIG members. Twice annually the program will award one copy of TSI's ULTIMATE PMP Exam Prep Self Study Course (35 PDU Educational Contact Hours) to a member seeking PMP certification and one copy of TSI's Mastering the PMBOK Guide Self Study Course (40 PDU Educational Contact Hours) to an already certified member. To manage the TSI Award Program, Vasilj Petrovic, VP Professional Development, announced the IT & Telecom SIG Board's decision to appoint Mr. Bob Leitch as Manager TSI Award Program.

The main thrust of Bob's efforts as Manager will be to communicate the benefits and successes of the TSI Award Program to IT & Telecom SIG members in order to increase program exposure.

Bob is a certified PMP who currently working as an independent consultant, following a successful 35 year career in the Canadian Forces. A Communications and Electronics Engineering Officer, he has extensive project management experience in radar, space, and communications systems. In progressively more responsible positions he has provided telecommunications support to operations, project management, and engineering support. He has command experience (CF Information operations Group and 70 Communications Group) and has served as CIO for NATO Forces in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Bob graduated from the Royal Military College with a degree in Electrical Engineering. To this he has added a Masters of Science in Space Operations from the United States Air Force Institute of Technology. Bob is also a graduate of the Canadian Forces Command and Staff College.

Bob and his wife Janette have volunteered with community sports organizations as their two boys have participated in football, hockey, and lacrosse. Sailing, motorcycle touring, and golf meet the need for leisure activities. Bob is also a member of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association, and a Past President of the Ottawa Chapter.
