UMT's primary goal is to provide management and technology education to the public and to promote academic excellence in higher education.

Who can Apply?
● Must be a member of PMI and IT & Telecom SIG
● Must be PMP certified or working towards PMP certification
● Not an elected IT & Telecom SIG board member or volunteering staff

What is the Scholarship Amount?
The monetary value for each eligible candidate is US$2,000

What is the Timeline to apply?
Application must be received by midnight EST on Nov 1st, 2008 (fall scholarship).

Are there other supporting documents required?
1. The candidate who is working towards PMP certification should provide a statement such as "Yes, I am working towards PMP designation", as well as a brief summary of current activities in which they are engaged, or have engaged, to achieve PMP designation.

2. The candidate must provide a brief essay showing the influence and place of PMI, the SIG and continuing education in their life. Include an explanation on why they would like to be sponsored for training and why they think they should get the scholarship. What would they contribute to the SIG organization? What are their learning objectives? What do they expect to learn from the project management course of their choice? The essay must be no longer than one page, in 12-point font.

3. Must submit a resume no longer than two pages, in 12-point font, with list of prior project management training, and career experience. The resume must contain details of academic performance, proof of experience in managing IT & Telecom type projects.

4. Provide information about volunteer involvement in SIG, PMI, and other PMI component activities or outside PMI, if any

5. Provide the list of UMT course(s) in the order of your interests

6. Submit any additional documentation if requested by the Scholarship Committee

Expectation from applicant?
● Must be willing to have their name and photograph published in SIG and UMT publications.
● Must be prepared to promote the scholarship as requested.
● Provide commitment to write an article for SIG publications about their UMT experience
● Must be willing to volunteer in SIG or other PMI component activities.
