Topic: ITIL From A Practitioner’s Point of View

Abstract:  Gary Case, ITIL Service Manager, and Executive Consultant with Pink Elephant, will share with you from his vast array of experiences of implementing ITIL at various organizations, both small-sized and global.

There are always consistent themes that allow for successful implementations, and critical success factors that play a part in any implementation. Gary will discuss the following items:

- The importance of Senior Management visible commitment and participation
- Understanding the scope of the program and projects
- Developing an organizational change strategy
- Properly defining the project deliverables
- Necessity for training and educating staff on ITIL and the new processes

Gary will also briefly discuss ITIL Version 3 and what the changes mean to you. He’ll discuss what Version 3 means in regards to certification and accreditation, as well as discuss other complementary books.

Presenter Bio:  Gary Case is an IT professional with more than 30 years experience, specializing in Process Consulting, Strategic Business Alignment, Project Management, and Training. In 2006, Gary was chosen as one of the 10 authors for the ITIL v3 Refresh Project. The book authored was Continual Service Improvement. Gary joined Pink Elephant after successfully running his own consulting and training company, and serving as the Director of Training for Help Desk Institute (HDI). Gary ’s main focus at Pink Elephant is to provide strategic guidance on the delivery of IT Service Management, process consulting, project management activities, and education programs to IT professionals across North America, Europe, Asia and Asia-Pacific. Gary has presented ITSM and ITIL-related sessions to audiences at major events worldwide, including HDI’s IT Infrastructure Management conference and Pink Elephant’s International IT Service Management Conference & Exhibition.
