Topic: Rainbows & Ratholes Best Practices Managing Successful Projects
Abstract: Project Management has become increasingly complex and challenging due to accelerated changes in technology, new business models, high user demands, and the need to respond to business pressures. The usual response, in most cases, is to acquire yet another automated tool or technology, and expect it to solve the fundamental gaps in the practice of Project Management. The gaps arise from inadequate understanding of project dynamics, undue reliance on automated tools, and lack of skills for managing the client's expectations. Successful Project Managers know how to bridge the gap by using and leveraging the basic tools of the trade, just like any other profession. This presentation will address the key factors that contribute to a successful outcome for projects by meeting or exceeding stakeholders' expectations. The speaker will share with us a summary of the Ten Tools/techniques and Best Practices that are critical to success and easily integrated with existing methodologies/practices in most organizations, but often ignored by Project Managers. Who should attend? The presentation would be of interest to industry professionals who are involved in or impacted by projects in their organizations. It will benefit those who are responsible for managing projects, implementing methodologies or working as part of a team including Team Leaders, Project Managers, Engineers, Consultants, Functional Managers, Software Developers and Users.
